Crazed by Mars Art Opening and Lecture

Frances Babb's Crazed by Mars paintings draw on scientific observations to bring out the stunning beauty of a place that no human has ever visited.  On Friday, January 24th we will travel with Frances, and geologist Julia Daly from University of Maine, Farmington to explore Mars' amazing landscapes. Frances will share her artwork and her experiences creating it, and Julia will provide a lecture on the understanding of Mars' geology. Julia regularly teaches a class on Martian geology, and will share a lecture titled "Teaching Mars, Learning about Earth".
6:30: Doors will open
7:15: Frances will speak about the art and the experience of creating it.
7:30: Julia will share her lecture, as well as her own additional experiences teaching and interpreting Mars.
